In defense of shooting people

The mystifying ideological claim that shooting people is violent and political is one that has been carefully produced by the useless class because it is precisely the violent maintenance of life which is both the basis and end of their power. Shooting is extremely dangerous to the poor (and most non-white people) because it reveals, with an immediacy that has to be moralized away, that the idea of your life is just that: an idea, a tenuous and contingent structure of consent, backed up by the lethal force of the state. When vigilantes shoot rioters, they are revealing precisely how, in a space without cops, life can be taken, and nothing can be had for free.
