The dignity of the High House – a modern fairytale

Interpretation of this fairytale:

(Authors note: The US Democratic party varies between socialist democrats and “democratic” socialists; historically, the party gave the world John F. Kennedy. Germany’s The Left varies between “democratic” socialists and die-hard communists; historically, the party gave the world the Berlin wall and the Stasi prison camps.)

(Left) With Trumps foreseeable acquittal in the impeachment proceedings hours away, and him holding a quite decent speech, all that’s left for the US leftists is, obviously, throwing a temper tantrum.

(Right) With a weird and unexpected failure to form a minority government in the German state of Thüringen by the The centre-left SPD, the moronic left Greens and the rather communist left The Left parties, the coalition of socialists faced the very surprising election of unlikely super-minority candidate Thomas Kemmerich of the pro-business FDP party, supported by politically undecided CDU and centre-right to far-right AfD parties. All that’s left for German leftists is, obviously, throwing a temper tantrum.

Update: Further reading: The Financial Times has managed to write a decent article. It’s astonishing that this is such great international news. Thüringen is a tiny place full of farmland with a decent university, one of Germany’s best school system, and about one company, optics manufacturer Carl Zeiss, which means most people get out of there as soon as they can.
